After traveling around Western Oklahoma this week, I have seen firsthand the damage done to our community amidst these disastrous wildfires.

As we look ahead towards recovery, I want to take a moment to provide useful resources and offer any assistance that may be available.

Most importantly, I have seen Oklahomans come together in the best and worst of times. Let us always remember to be a good neighbor and care for one another.
Livestock Forage Disaster Program
-The Livestock Forage Program provides payments to eligible livestock producers who have seen forage loss due to fires on federal lands used for grazing.
-If you think you may be eligible for payment, producers should submit an application to their local FSA office.
-The application process includes providing documentation of grazing losses, details of the disaster impact, and information about the eligible livestock. Detailed enrollment instructions and deadlines are available through the local FSA office.
-You can find your local office by clicking here.

Livestock Indemnity Program
-LIP provides benefits to livestock producers for livestock deaths in excess of normal mortality caused by adverse weather or by attacks by animals reintroduced into the wild by the Federal Government. LIP payments are equal to 75 percent of the average fair market value of the livestock.
-You can find out how to apply by clicking here.

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management
-Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management is asking residents impacted by the fires to report damages to their property at damage.ok.gov.
-Reporting damage helps local and state emergency managers better coordinate response and recovery efforts and can help connect residents with resources.
-Residents can report damage to homes, businesses or agriculture through the online survey.

Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation
-The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation has established a Fire Relief Fund to support cattle producers impacted by the recent wildfires in Northwest Oklahoma.
-You can find more information by clicking here.

Oklahoma Healthcare Authority
-The Oklahoma Healthcare Authority’s “Be A Neighbor” network provides access to local support including financial assistance, food pantries, medical care, and other free or reduced-cost help.
-You can learn more by clicking here.

Generic Assistance
-Visit 211.org to connect with local resources for food, housing, healthcare, mental health support, and other essential services. Simply enter your ZIP code to find assistance programs available in your community.
-Visit findhelp.org to search for free or reduced-cost services such as food, housing, healthcare, and financial aid by entering your ZIP code.
A Word of Appreciation to Our First Responders
When disasters strike, our first responders are always ready to answer the call. This week, we’ve seen their unmatched readiness on full display – from local fire departments and volunteer firefighters to emergency management leaders.

Without their rapid response and many sacrifices, those of us in Western Oklahoma would have be in far greater danger this week. We owe a debt of gratitude to these brave men and women.
