Cheyenne, OK – Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) released the following statement today after recently supporting House Republicans’ pro-life agenda, including H.R. 26- the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and H.Con.Res. 3- Expressing the sense of Congress condemning the recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches. Lucas also honored the participants in the 50th annual March for Life, the largest pro-life gathering in the country.

“Throughout my time in Congress, the safeguarding of the fundamental right to life has and will always be one of my highest priorities. Last week I was proud to join my House Republican colleagues in passing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and H.Con.Res. 3, protecting the life of children and standing united with crisis pregnancy centers and pro-life organizations who have been targeted by activists for defending the unborn. House Republicans’ work is far from done supporting life. But when I look at the energy of today’s marchers and the pro-life agenda of House Republicans, I’m encouraged. I look forward to continuing to support pro-life legislation, always fighting for life.”

Lucas was a cosponsor of H.R. 26– the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires appropriate medical care for children who survive abortion procedures and imposes strong criminal penalties for failure to provide such care. Additionally, the bill protects women upon whom abortions have been performed from prosecution.

This legislation is similar to H.R. 619, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which was introduced in the 117th Congress and included 208 Republican cosponsors.

H.Con.Res. 3, condemns violence that has been perpetuated against pro-life facilities, groups, and churches in the aftermath of the Dobbs V. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision.

In the 117th Congress, Lucas received an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony List for his pro-life record.
