After his 18th town hall meeting, Republican congressman Frank Lucas was quick to admit, the passion of the angry voters is still there.  And he’s predicting it will result in Democrats and maybe some not-so-careful Republicans being thrown out of office in the November elections.—and end with 100 new freshmen members of congress.

"If the President pushes global warming, if he goes after immigration and if he begins to talk about social security, the senario is there for an epic, epic election cycle and epic change of members," said Lucas following a Thursday town hall meeting attended by nearly 100 people in Yukon. "I can’t say with certainty there’ll be 100 freshmen in the next class, but it is now very possible."

Lucas said his prediction is based on what he and his colleagues have found around the country. "You only have to look in the eyes of the members who are in traditionally safe Democratic seats to know they’re nervous."

And the western Oklahoma congressman said it’s also a year where a Republican who had not been mindful could end up losing a primary election.

He said the 100 person turnout in Yukon has been typical of his town hall meetings in the past week.  Lucas estimated the health-care inspired town hall meetings held last summer and fall had turnouts ten fold from previously held meetings.  "I would say we’re running five to eight times the normal size."

Questions at the Yukon town hall meeting of course focused on the new health care bill, socialism, higher taxes, support for veterans and immigration.
