With his new position as the top Republican on the House Ag Committee, Congressman Frank Lucas becomes the lead spokesman for the Republicans on ag policy in the House. He gets a full staff to help run the minority side of the committee, and he has chosen Nicole Scott, the talented lady who has run his legislative operations in Washington for the past decade, to be the Staff Director for the Minority office of the House Ag Committee.

Lucas also tells us that Bill O’Connor will remain with the Committee in the Republican offices- serving as a Senior Policy Analyst- or as Congressman Lucas called him- the "guru" for agricultural policy.

We talked at length with Congressman Lucas about his new position that became official earlier this week as the 111th Congress was sworn in- and what he hopes to see done in the months ahead as he settles in beside House Ag Committee Chairman Colin Peterson in this leadership role. We have our full conversation with Congressman Lucas up on our website as a Podcast- and the link to it is below- take a listen!
