Washington, DC – Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the FY 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Lucas voted in favor of the legislation.

“By passing the NDAA, we fulfilled our duty to support America’s servicemembers, bolster Oklahoma installations, and improve America’s military readiness amidst increased global instability,” said Congressman Frank Lucas. “I applaud House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers for his efforts in passing this legislation and ensuring it includes critical funding for Oklahoma’s Third District.”

BACKGROUND:

The NDAA passed the House last Wednesday 281-140 and now is awaiting final approval in the Senate. It includes:

  • A 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers and supports a 4.5% pay raise for all other servicemembers.
  • Authorization of $29m for Shawnee Readiness Center for the Oklahoma National Guard.
  • Authorization of $74m for Ammunition Demolition Facility at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant.
  • Border security funds to conduct cyber operations to disrupt cartels/trafficking.
  • Fully supports deployment of National Guard troops to augment Border Patrol activities at the southwest border.
