Cheyenne, OK – Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) released the following statement after learning of the death of Oklahoma Republican Party stalwart, Sue Healey:

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my good friend, Sue Healey. Oklahoma’s Republican Party knew no greater friends and advocates for fellow Republicans than Sue and her late husband Skip.

“Sue and her husband were role models to so many throughout Oklahoma, and while Skip is honored with the Baren ‘Skip’ Healey OKGOP Party Builder Award, every Oklahoman knows a good husband doesn’t get far in life without the support of an even stronger wife. The first time I met Skip and Sue was in 1978- Skip embodied the lifestyle of an Oklahoma cattleman, oilman, and dedicated civic leader while Sue was the always calming and endearing friend, no matter how long you knew her.

“I share the sentiment of my friend and colleague, Representative Tom Cole, in stating that Oklahoma will truly miss Sue’s kind soul. My thoughts and prayers go out to Sue’s family, friends, and the thousands who were impacted by her work and life.”
