Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Lucas (R-Okla.) released the following statement after President Trump announced his nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court:

“President Trump’s nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court will fill a nearly yearlong vacancy on the court and help move it towards a stricter interpretation of the Constitution,” said Congressman Lucas. “Judge Gorsuch has an impressive legal background and shares the late Justice Scalia’s belief in strictly adhering to the letter of the law. I am encouraged by the president’s nomination and hope the Senate will take action to ensure the Supreme Court can move forward in its work with a full bench.”
