Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) released the following statement announcing the departure of long-time aide Nicole Scott:

“Behind every effective House Committee Chairman and productive Member of Congress stands a dedicated and admirable staff, which certainly describes Nicole Scott. Whether serving as Staff Director of the House Agriculture Committee or Senior Advisor in my personal office, Nicole played an indispensable role while dedicating her life to the people who she admired most: America’s farmers and ranchers and the people who call Oklahoma home.

Throughout her 24 years of service, Nicole brought policy expertise and a love for the people she served that remains unmatched on Capitol Hill. Her commitment to this cause extends far beyond the legislative process and undoubtedly changed the lives of countless Oklahomans and fellow staffers. Nicole’s leadership and presence will be sorely missed, as she leaves behind a sense of loyalty and passion within the agriculture community and our office.

Personally, I am incredibly grateful for her leadership and counsel but most importantly, her friendship. I wish Nicole lots of happiness and fulfillment as she takes on the next role in her life and am comforted knowing she will remain a heartfelt friend to me and the people of Oklahoma for decades to come.”

Nicole Scott began her career on Capitol Hill in 1995 as a senior aide to then-Rep. J.C. Watts. Four years later, Nicole was hired by Rep. Frank Lucas as a Legislative Director, specifically handling agriculture issues. In 2009, after Congressman Lucas was named Ranking Member of the Agriculture Committee, Nicole was brought on to the Committee staff as Staff Director, and later as Chief Clerk and Counsel. Nicole returned to Congressman Lucas personal office earlier this year proudly serving as his Senior Advisor.

The proud daughter of Phil and Pat Scott of Waurika, Oklahoma, Nicole Scott is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
