Lucas Congratulates Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan on his Nomination as the Director of the National Science Foundation

Washington, DC – House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Ranking Member Frank Lucas released a statement today applauding President Trump’s nomination of Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan to serve as the next Director of the National Science Foundation. 

“The National Science Foundation does vital work supporting and funding research that makes America competitive, prosperous, and secure,” Lucas said. “Dr. Panchanathan has exceptional credentials in research and academia and understands the importance of strong science policy with an emphasis on basic research. I’m looking forward to working with him in this new role, and I appreciate all the work his predecessor Dr. France Córdova has done to keep America at the forefront of scientific innovation.”
