Congressman Lucas Visits Hobart Chamber of Commerce, Elkview General Hospital
Hobart, OK – Yesterday, Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) visited Hobart, Oklahoma where he met with the Hobart Chamber of Commerce and visited Elkview General Hospital.
Lucas and the Hobart Chamber of Commerce discussed legislative priorities, community development projects, as well as a host of other topics.
“I had a wonderful visit with the folks from Hobart yesterday afternoon. I always enjoy meeting with community leaders and business owners from across Oklahoma’s Third District, and that includes the Hobart Chamber of Commerce,” Lucas said. “Investing in our communities and ensuring our businesses have the necessary resources to grow is important, especially as we safely and responsibly reopen our local economies moving forward from the coronavirus. I thank the Hobart Chamber of Commerce for the visit and look forward to hearing more good news coming from the community.”
While in Hobart, Lucas also visited Elkview General Hospital where he talked to hospital leaders and doctors about their tireless work caring for the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“For nearly 50 years, Elkview General Hospital has provided outstanding care to Hobart, Kiowa County, and the surrounding communities,” said Congressman Lucas. “Oklahoma’s rural hospitals have been on the frontlines since day one of the pandemic and I commend everyone at Elkview General Hospital- and every other hospital across Oklahoma- for their dedication to keeping our families, neighbors, and communities healthy.”
Elkview General Hospital, through the Kiowa County Hospital Authority, has received $3,676,430 through the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Provider Relief Fund, which supports health care facilities, providers, employees, and their patients throughout the coronavirus pandemic. The Provider Relief Fund was created through an appropriation in the CARES Act, which Lucas supported.
