Congressman Lucas Cosponsors National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act
Cheyenne, OK – Recently, Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) cosponsored H.R. 38- the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. Introduced by Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would allow people with state-issued concealed carry licenses or permits to conceal a handgun in any other state, as long as the permit holder follows the laws of that state. It also allows residents of Constitutional carry states the ability to carry in other states.
“I believe in protecting the fundamental right of law-abiding citizens to bear arms. My fellow Oklahomans’ rights shouldn’t disappear when they cross the state line, which is why I’ve cosponsored H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which would provide law-abiding citizens the right to conceal carry and travel between states without worrying about conflicting state laws,” said Congressman Lucas. “I’m proud to cosponsor the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act and stand for the law-abiding Oklahomans, and I hope my colleagues and I can pass the bipartisan, common-sense gun legislation this Congress.”
After being introduced, H.R. 38 now awaits action in the House Committee on the Judiciary.
