Oklahoma’s Third Congressional District encompasses 32 counties in northern and western Oklahoma, stretching from the Oklahoma Panhandle to suburbs of Tulsa to the Red River outside Altus. The largest congressional district in Oklahoma, it covers an area of 34,088 square miles and is one of the largest districts in the nation that does not cover an entire state. It takes up almost half the state’s land mass and is one of the largest agricultural regions in the nation.
The Third District includes Alfalfa, Beaver, Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Cimarron, Creek, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Garfield, Grant, Greer, Harmon, Harper, Jackson, Kay, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Lincoln, Major, Noble, Oklahoma, Osage, Pawnee, Payne, Rogers Mills, Texas, Washita, Woods, and Woodward counties.
Agriculture, energy, rural health care, education, and main street businesses are the backbone of the economy. Oklahoma’s Third Congressional District includes the campuses of five four-year universities, three two-year community colleges, and 12 career technology centers.
