Congressional Art Competition

Congressional Art Competition logo

Each spring, a nationwide art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives to recognize and encourage artistic talent in each congressional district. Beginning in 1982, the Artistic Discovery Competition has drawn more than 650,000 high school participants- including our very own artists from Oklahoma’s Third Congressional District.

The contest is open to all high school students (public, private, or homeschooled) and will be hosted in my District Office. The winning artist will receive free airfare for two to participate in the Congressional Art Competition’s ribbon-cutting ceremony this summer and will have their winning piece hang in the U.S. Capitol for a year.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating, please see the important documents below, including the rules and regulations relating to the 2024 Congressional Art Competition.

This year’s contest will be digital.  In addition to the release form, please email a photo of your entry to lydia.sutterfield@mail.house.gov.

The deadline for entries is Friday, April 26, 2024.  For more information on registration contact Allison Litterell in my Canadian County office at (405) 373-1958.
