Lucas Signs Pledge to Stand With Our Police

Washington, D.C. – This week, Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) signed Heritage Action’s Police Pledge, a pledge to show his unwavering support for our nation’s law enforcement officers and commitment to opposing any legislative efforts to “defund the police”. After signing the pledge, Congressman Lucas issued the following statement:

“Oklahoma’s law enforcement officers, and hundreds of thousands more across the United States, risk their lives every single day to ensure the freedoms and property of every single individual are protected. Our communities are forever indebted to the men and women of America’s police departments who take an oath to uphold the law and carry out their responsibility to serve and protect,” said Congressman Lucas. “We need our law enforcement, which is why I oppose any legislative attempt to ‘Defund the Police’ and, why I’ll always stand with the men and women in blue who protect our communities.”

Police Officers have chosen a noble profession. They dedicate their lives to upholding the law and protecting the sacred rights of their fellow citizens. As a profession, they deserve support and respect.

I stand with America’s Police and pledge to oppose any bill, resolution, or movement to “Defund the Police.”
