Congressional Art Contest Application Process Begins

I am pleased to announce that the application process for the annual Congressional Art Contest has begun. The contest, sponsored by the Congressional Arts Caucus, is an exciting opportunity for high school students who are interested in art.  The winning selection will have their artwork displayed for a year in the United States Capitol Building, where it will be seen by the hundreds of thousands of people who visit the nation’s capitol each year.  The winning artist will also receive a trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Congressional Art Competition’s ribbon cutting ceremony on June 17th, 2010.

I would like to strongly encourage all high school students in the Third Congressional District to participate.  To enter, students must be attending a high school in the Third Congressional District.  Along with your application, you must deliver your artwork to one of the designated drop-off locations by 12:00 p.m. on April 20th, 2010.  To get a complete list of locations, contact Lynne Hill in my Canadian County office at (405) 373-1958. The winner will be announced later that month.
