Washington D.C. Internship Opportunities
Oct 31, 2011I know many college students are either required or encouraged to do an internship at some point during their undergraduate study. I believe internships are a great way for students to learn how to step out of school and be successful in a full-time working environment. I am urging all college-aged students in Oklahoma’s Third Congressional District to apply for the spring 2012 internship in my Washington D.C. congressional office.

Some will travel out of state, and some will stay here in Oklahoma. And a select few will the opportunity to not only get a first-rate education, but to also serve their country by attending one of our nation’s service academies.

Congressional Art Contest Application Process Begins
Feb 26, 2010I am pleased to announce that the application process for the annual Congressional Art Contest has begun. The contest, sponsored by the Congressional Arts Caucus, is an exciting opportunity for high school students who are interested in art. The winning selection will have their artwork displayed for a year in the United States Capitol Building, where it will be seen by the hundreds of thousands of people who visit the nation’s capitol each year. The winning artist will also receive a trip to Washington, D.C.

I begin each meeting with a brief introduction and an update of current legislation under consideration in Washington as well as other hot button issues of the day. I then open it up to questions and comments from the people attending.

Oct 16, 2008Beginning February 17, 2008, television signals will only be broadcasted digitally, meaning that Americans who only use antennas will no longer be able to receive their analog signal. Households who have cable service of any kind will not be affected by this change, but there are an estimated 19.6 million people who do currently receive analog signals only.
So what does this mean for you? If you are currently only receiving an analog signal through an antenna for your television, you have three options.
